Your police pension and the McCloud Remedy
The implementation of the reform to public sector pensions including police officer pension has been ruled unfair in court, on the grounds of age discrimination.
As a result of this court ruling, all eligible retired and former Met officers must be offered a choice of new pension benefits for any service between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2022. This is known as the McCloud remedy.
Retired and former officers will hear from SSCL/SopraSteria or Equiniti (EQ) as these organisations administer the police pension scheme on behalf of the Met. From mid-January 2025 onwards they will send people impacted what is called a Remediable Service Statement (RSS). This will set out the choice you can make.
If you are a currently serving officer you can find more information on the Met police intranet site.
If you are a member of Met police staff you can find more information on MyCSP to find out more.
